Services for families requesting visits in Modesto

Supportive supervised visitation

$100 per hour, with a two-hour minimum. The monitor stays present and attentive throughout parent-child contact. Parents and children may talk, play, read, share meals or enjoy approved activities. Neutral prompts, encouragement, transition support and redirection may be provided when helpful while preserving the parent’s role.

Supervised exchange (safe exchange)

$50 per 15-minute increment. Exchanges use structured, staggered arrivals and departures to reduce unnecessary contact between parents. The monitor confirms each participant’s location, waiting and departure instructions in advance.

Orientation and objective reports

Individual orientation is $45 per parent. Each parent completes a separate orientation before services begin. Written reports are $65 per report, with a standard turnaround of five to seven business days unless otherwise required or agreed. Reports document direct observations and statements; they do not offer custody recommendations, diagnoses or legal opinions.

Choosing an appropriate visit location

Families may suggest a library, park, family-friendly restaurant, recreation area or another suitable location in Modesto or Stanislaus County. Community-based visits can provide opportunities for ordinary parent-child activities while professional supervision continues.

The monitor reviews the proposed setting for the applicable order, the child’s age and needs, safety and the ability to see and hear all parent-child contact. Approved in-home visits may also be considered when appropriate. No venue or service date is guaranteed.

Qualifications include California TrustLine registration, professional supervised-visitation and mandated-reporter training, Supervised Visitation Network membership and completion of SVN Supportive Supervised Visitation training.

The monitor maintains professional boundaries and follows the applicable order and service guidelines. Supportive visitation is not therapy, reunification therapy, mediation or custody evaluation. Parents are encouraged to respond naturally to their child’s interests and cues whenever safely appropriate.
